Jobber’s pricing page looks simple: four tiers, one price each, done. It is not done. The number on that page is a one-user, annual-billing price, and almost no garage door company runs one user. Once you add the office manager, the second truck, and the tech who just got hired, the real bill moves, and it moves differently depending on which tier you started from. This guide works out the actual monthly cost at 2, 5, and 10 users, states what each tier does and does not include, and lines Jobber up against Housecall Pro and Service Fusion, which price seats in two entirely different ways.
We sell a competing lead and follow-up system, Garage Door Lead Engine, so we are not a neutral reviewer here. We are not in the field service dispatch and job-costing business Jobber is in, and this guide is not trying to talk you out of Jobber. It is trying to give you the real number before you commit to a year of it. If you have not settled on field service software as a category at all yet, our broader comparison of the field service platforms garage door companies actually use is the place to start; this guide assumes Jobber is already one of your finalists and just prices it correctly.
Which one you should probably pick
For a 2 to 5 truck shop that wants QuickBooks synced and does not need job costing or workflow automation, Jobber’s Connect tier is the reasonable starting point, priced per person below. If your crew is closer to 8 to 15 people and you are comfortable with Jobber’s workflow, the Plus tier’s included 15 users often beats paying per-seat on a lower tier, so run that math before you assume Grow is your ceiling. If your shop is at 10-plus trucks and per-user fees anywhere in this category feel like the wrong pricing model for your business, Service Fusion charges by tier, not by head, and that flips the answer for a larger crew.
Three things would change this recommendation:
- You are still on QuickBooks Desktop, not Online. Jobber and Housecall Pro both sync to QuickBooks Online. Service Fusion is a QuickBooks Solutions Provider and supports both Online and Desktop, which matters if your office has not migrated. Whichever platform you land on, mapping items, tax, and classes correctly matters more once you actually connect it than which vendor you picked.
- You want reputation and review-request tools built into the same platform. Housecall Pro leans further into review management out of the box than Jobber does.
- You are prepared to sit through a sales-gated quote for more horsepower. Neither Jobber, Housecall Pro, nor Service Fusion is that path. If you want to know what that path costs, see the comparison table below for where the bigger, quote-only platforms sit relative to these three.
What each one actually costs
All prices below were checked on the vendor’s own pricing page on August 28, 2026, and this category changes list prices without much notice, so re-check before you sign anything.
| Platform | Published price (checked Aug 28, 2026) | Per-user add-on | What it is best at | Where it gets hard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber Core | $21/mo annual, 1 user ($49/mo billed monthly) | $29/mo per extra user | Cheapest way to run quoting, scheduling, and invoicing for a one or two-person shop | No QuickBooks sync at this tier, and per-user fees stack fast past 2 users |
| Jobber Connect | $70/mo annual, 1 user | $29/mo per extra user | Smallest tier with QuickBooks Online sync included | Still charges $29/mo per seat, so a 5-person team runs well past the sticker price |
| Jobber Grow | $105/mo annual, 1 user | $29/mo per extra user | Adds job costing and workflow automation | Per-user fee still applies; a 10-person crew on Grow can land near $300/mo before add-ons |
| Jobber Plus | $280/mo annual, includes 15 users | None up to 15 users | Flat price that covers most crews up to 15 people | Overkill and overpriced for a 2 to 3 person shop; the jump from Grow is steep if you do not need the full 15 seats |
| Housecall Pro Basic | $59/mo annual, 1 user ($79/mo monthly) | $100/mo per extra user | Entry price point, single-user shops | No QuickBooks sync on this tier; the $100/mo extra-user rate is the steepest in this comparison |
| Housecall Pro Essentials | $149/mo annual, includes 5 users | $100/mo per extra user | QuickBooks sync plus built-in review and marketing tools at a mid crew size | The $100/mo per extra seat past 5 users pushes a growing crew to Max faster than the plan name suggests |
| Housecall Pro Max | $299/mo annual, includes 8 users | $75/mo per extra user | Larger crews needing an open API and the full feature set | Still charges per seat past 8 users, and the entry price is the highest of the three vendors here |
| Service Fusion Starter | $208/mo annual ($245/mo monthly) | None, unlimited users | Unlimited seats on every tier, so cost does not move with headcount | Base tier is more expensive than Jobber Core or Connect for a very small crew where you would not need unlimited seats anyway |
| Service Fusion Plus | $325/mo annual ($382/mo monthly) | None, unlimited users | Job costing and photo workflows with no per-seat penalty | Middle tier costs more than Jobber Grow at low headcount, and still costs more than Jobber’s flat-rate Plus tier even at 10 users, so its real edge is against Housecall Pro Max, not against Jobber’s best option |
| Service Fusion Pro | $533/mo annual ($627/mo monthly) | None, unlimited users | Open API, custom documents, eSign, and a customer portal at any crew size | Highest sticker price of the three vendors’ top tiers, and you are paying for features a small shop may not use |
What it actually runs at 2, 5, and 10 users
Sticker prices are one-user prices on Jobber and Housecall Pro. Here is the all-in monthly number once you add seats, using each vendor’s own August 28, 2026 pricing.
At 2 users:
- Jobber Connect: $70 base + $29 for the second user = $99/mo (QuickBooks synced)
- Housecall Pro Basic does not cover 2 users with sync included; Essentials at $149/mo covers up to 5, so a 2-person shop needing QuickBooks pays $149/mo whether they use all 5 seats or not
- Service Fusion Starter: $208/mo flat, unlimited users, more than either competitor at this headcount
At 5 users:
- Jobber Connect: $70 base + $29 x 4 extra users = $186/mo
- Housecall Pro Essentials: $149/mo covers 5 users with no add-on, $149/mo flat, the cheapest of the three at this exact headcount
- Service Fusion Starter: $208/mo flat, still unlimited users
At 10 users:
- Jobber Grow: $105 base + $29 x 9 extra users = $366/mo, but Jobber Plus at $280/mo covers 15 users flat, so Plus is the cheaper Jobber option once you cross roughly 7 extra seats on Grow
- Housecall Pro Max: $299 base covers 8 users, + $75 x 2 extra = $449/mo
- Service Fusion Plus: $325/mo flat, unlimited users, cheaper than Jobber Grow’s per-seat math ($366/mo) and well under Housecall Pro Max ($449/mo), though still more than Jobber’s flat-rate Plus tier at $280/mo
The pattern: Jobber and Housecall Pro’s per-user fees make them cheaper at low headcounts and more expensive as you add people, until Jobber’s Plus tier flat-rate kicks in. Service Fusion is the opposite: pricier than either competitor for a very small crew, and increasingly competitive as the crew grows past 5 to 7 people, though Jobber’s own Plus tier still comes out cheapest at 10 users in the math above.
Before you start
- Decide your billing option before you sign up. Jobber offers three: monthly with no commitment (most expensive per month, cancel anytime), monthly with a 12-month commitment (cheaper per month, but you owe the full term), and annual prepay (cheapest per month, non-refundable if you stop using it).
- Have your QuickBooks login ready if you are syncing. On Jobber, sync requires Connect tier or above, not Core. On Housecall Pro, sync starts at Essentials, not Basic.
- Know your actual user count, not your truck count. A shop with 4 trucks might have 6 logins once the office and a part-time dispatcher are counted.
- If you are considering Service Fusion and still run QuickBooks Desktop, confirm that matters to you: Service Fusion is a QuickBooks Solutions Provider and supports Desktop as well as Online, which neither Jobber nor Housecall Pro does as of this writing.
Setting up Jobber at Connect or Grow
- Go to the Jobber pricing page and start the free trial. No sales call is required to begin.
- Pick your tier based on the math above, not the plan name. If you need QuickBooks sync, you need Connect or higher regardless of your user count.
- Choose your billing option: monthly no-commitment, monthly with a 12-month term, or annual prepay. If you are not certain the workflow fits your shop, start monthly even at the higher rate.
- Import or manually enter your customer list from wherever it lives now: a spreadsheet, an old system, QuickBooks itself. Check Jobber’s current import options in Settings before typing in every record by hand.
- Build your price book. This is the manual step shops skip and regret: enter your flat-rate services (spring replacement, opener install, panel repair, service call) with correct pricing before your first tech goes live on the app, not after. If you have not built a flat-rate price list yet, our guide to building one for a garage door company covers the structure before you start typing it into either platform.
- Connect QuickBooks Online or Xero from the settings menu, on Connect tier or above.
- Add your team members. Each additional user past the tier’s included seat count adds $29/mo on Core, Connect, and Grow.
- Install the Jobber mobile app on technician phones (iOS and Android) and walk through scheduling and dispatch with the crew before the first live job.
- On Grow or Plus, turn on job costing and workflow automation once the basics are running smoothly. Layering these on week one, before the team trusts the price book, tends to slow adoption rather than help it.
Setting up Housecall Pro at Essentials
- Start the 14-day free trial on housecallpro.com. No credit card is required to begin, per the vendor’s stated policy as of August 28, 2026.
- Choose a tier by user count: Essentials includes 5 users, Max includes 8.
- Set up your scheduling and dispatch board, then build your price book the same way you would for Jobber.
- Connect QuickBooks Online from the integrations settings. This is available from Essentials up, not on Basic.
- Configure the online booking widget for your website and set up the review-request automation, which is more built-out on Housecall Pro than on Jobber out of the box.
- Install the technician mobile app and enable GPS tracking and route optimization, both available from Essentials up.
- If you expect to add more than 3 extra seats past your tier’s included count, run the math against Jobber Plus or Service Fusion before committing. Housecall Pro’s per-user rate ($100/mo on Essentials, $75/mo on Max) is the steepest in this comparison.
Service Fusion: the unlimited-user option
Service Fusion is the odd one out in this comparison, not because it is hard to set up, but because its pricing model runs opposite to the other two, and picking it for the wrong reason is an easy mistake.
Its tiers cost more than Jobber or Housecall Pro’s entry plans, and that is true even for a 2-person shop that does not need unlimited seats yet. The value only shows up once you are actually adding people: at 10 users, Service Fusion’s Plus tier at $325/mo still costs more than Jobber’s flat-rate Plus tier at $280/mo, but it beats Housecall Pro Max at $449/mo clearly, and the gap to Jobber is far closer than it is at 2 users, where Service Fusion Starter’s $208/mo is the most expensive of the three. A 2-person shop paying $208/mo for Starter is paying for headroom it is not using yet.
The setup itself is straightforward: sign up on servicefusion.com, choose Starter, Plus, or Pro, connect QuickBooks Online or Desktop (Service Fusion is a QuickBooks Solutions Provider, which is the one real differentiator worth knowing about if your office still runs Desktop), and build out your price book the same way as the other two platforms. Job costing and photo workflows require Plus or above. Open API access, custom documents, eSign, and a customer web portal are Pro-tier only.
The honest reason to pick Service Fusion over Jobber or Housecall Pro is almost never “it’s cheaper.” It is usually one of two things: you are on QuickBooks Desktop and do not want to migrate, or you have a crew of 8-plus and do not want your software bill to move every time you hire.
What usually goes wrong
- Picking a tier by feature list instead of by seat count. A shop reads that Grow has job costing and signs up for Grow, then discovers the per-user fee at 8 people makes Plus the cheaper option they should have started with.
- Signing the annual prepay before confirming the workflow fits. The discount is real. So is the non-refundable clause. Shops that skip a monthly trial period sometimes learn in month three that the price book structure does not match how they actually quote jobs.
- Forgetting QuickBooks sync is tier-gated. On both Jobber and Housecall Pro, the cheapest tier does not include it. An owner who signs up for Jobber Core expecting to sync accounting later has to upgrade to Connect, which changes the math they budgeted for.
- Undercounting users at signup. Trucks are not users. Office staff, part-time dispatchers, and the owner’s login all count, and per-user fees on the lower tiers compound that miscount quickly.
- Assuming “no long-term contract” claims apply the same way everywhere. Housecall Pro markets no long-term contracts. Jobber offers three distinct billing paths with different commitment levels. Read the specific terms at signup, not the marketing headline.
How to tell it is working
In week one, check that every technician’s mobile app matches the office’s price book exactly, that invoices generated in the field sync to QuickBooks without manual correction, and that no job gets scheduled without a corresponding customer record. In month one, pull your actual bill and compare it to the number you worked out before signing up. If it is materially higher, the most common cause is a seat count that grew faster than expected or a feature you assumed was included that was actually tier-gated. Catching that in month one, while you are still on a monthly plan or early in an annual term, is a lot cheaper than catching it in month nine.
Common questions
- How much does Jobber cost per month?
- As of August 28, 2026, Jobber's published tiers run Core $21/mo, Connect $70/mo, Grow $105/mo, and Plus $280/mo, all on annual billing for one user. Monthly billing without a commitment runs higher, and Core jumps to $49/mo. Add $29/mo for each additional user on Core, Connect, and Grow. Plus includes 15 users in the $280/mo price.
- Does Jobber charge per user?
- Yes, on the Core, Connect, and Grow tiers, at $29 per additional user per month as of August 28, 2026. The Plus tier is different: it includes 15 users in the base $280/mo price, so a crew that size or smaller pays no per-seat add-on on Plus.
- Is Jobber or Housecall Pro cheaper for a garage door company?
- It depends on crew size. At 2 users, Jobber's Connect tier at roughly $99/mo (with QuickBooks sync) undercuts Housecall Pro's Essentials tier, which starts at $149/mo for up to 5 users. At 10 users, Jobber usually wins: its Plus tier at $280/mo for 15 users beats Housecall Pro's Max tier, which lands at $449/mo once you add two seats past its 8 included. Housecall Pro's per-user math is only competitive right around Max's 8-user mark, before those extra-seat fees start compounding. Run both at your actual headcount before deciding.
- Does Jobber's annual plan refund if I cancel?
- No. As of August 28, 2026, Jobber's annual prepaid plan is stated as non-refundable if you cancel mid-term. Jobber also offers monthly billing with no commitment and monthly billing with a 12-month commitment, so the refund risk is a choice you make at signup, not something forced on every customer.
